We’ve hit the two month mark for the case study on vBSEO’s affect on search engine indexing and increasing web traffic. First lets get to the search engine site:haloboards.com numbers:

site:haloboards.com (Google) down 3,400 to 25,000

site:haloboards.com (Yahoo) down 1,826 to 11,543

site:haloboards.com (MSN) up 64 to 215!!! (lol)

This week’s numbers were kind of funny. I know the drops are just typical search engine fluctuations because when I checked out the numbers earlier today they were even higher than what is listed above so I’m not too concerned at all. What is most important to me is vBSEO’s affect on sending more traffic to my forum and here are some graphs from Google Analytics:

April 10th to May 10th (1 month before vBSEO installation)
April 10th to May 10th (One month before vBSEO installation)

May 11th to June 11th (1 month after vBSEO installation)
May 11th to June 11th

June 12th to July 12th (2 months after vBSEO installation)
June 12th to July 12th

As you can see from the numbers, the search engine traffic went down a few percentage points after the first month but this month regained the lost ground and more to surpass the stats from before the vBSEO installation. The gains aren’t huge yet, but I am pleased with the results thus far. I think that GamingVidz has had better results so far, but the vBSEO has been installed on that site longer than for HaloBoards (it also has nearly ten times as many posts). I still recommend using vBSEO’s“>vBSEO to improve your site’s search engine indexing and increase search engine traffic for vBulletin forums.

Have these case studies helped you decide wether or not to purchase a vBSEO license for your forum?

I’ve decided that after each vBSEO case study reaches the 3 month mark I will move to bi monthly updates instead of doing them on a weekly basis. GamingVidz.com hit the three month mark in the last update, so the next update for that case study will be next week. I believe that after vBSEO has been installed for a fair amount of time there won’t be as many changes in numbers so it’s overkill to write updates every week.

The good news is that this will allow me to write more things that are related to the focus of my blog: giving tips to improve your forum community.

What do you think of the vBSEO case studies though? Have they helped you make a descision on wether or not to purchase a license?

Another week of small gains for this week’s vBSEO update for HaloBoards:

site:haloboards.com (Google) up 100 to 28,400

site:haloboards.com (Yahoo) up 277 to 13,360

site:haloboards.com (MSN) up 6 to 154

I think this just another calm week before the storm of additional search engine results. Time will tell, but I’m still very impressed with how well vBSEO has improved indexing my vBulletin forum content. Next week will be an exciting update as it will make the two month mark since the installation of vBSEO. One thing I have to factor into the figures between HaloBoards and GamingVidz is the lower number of posts HaloBoards has, so I think that GamingVidz will always have more results than HaloBoards.

Here are the numbers for Week 12 - the exciting three month mark - on my ongoing case study of vBSEO’s affects on forum search engine indexing and sending traffic from search engines. We saw a little drop in Google’s numbers this week, but a gain with Yahoo. Because this is a month mark in the case study I have also provided graphs from Google Analytics that highlight the traffic sources for GamingVidz. First lets start with the search engine results numbers for the week:

site:gamingvidz.com (Google) down 9,000 to 217,000

site:gamingvidz.com (Yahoo) down 1,112 to 24,256

site:gamingvidz.com (MSN) up 6 to 135

This week showed downward fluctuations that I’m not too concerned about after seeing the monumental gains from recent updates. The real pupose of this case study is to see how much search engine traffic is sent to GamingVidz.com with vBSEO’s help. The following graphs are from the “new” Google Analytics and highlight the various traffic sources and their share of the pie graph for GamingVidz. As you can see as a whole direct traffic has gone down; however, this always occurs on GamingVidz.com as the summer months bring less time inside watching videos and more time outside or on vacation for my members. With that in mind, here are the numbers thus far (pay attention to the search engine traffic chunk):

April 2nd to April 9th (Pre vBSEO installation - only one week of data)

April 2nd to April 9th (Pre vBSEO installation - only one week of data)

April 10th to May 7th (1 month after vBSEO installation)

April 10th to May 7th (1 month after vBSEO installation)

May 8th to June 4th (2 months after vBSEO installation)

May 8th to June 4th (2 months after vBSEO installation)

June 5th to July 2nd (3 months after vBSEO installation)

June 5th to July 2nd (3 months after vBSEO installation)

Twelve weeks ago GamingVidz started with only 34,300 results and in three months vBSEO increased search engine results for a site:gamingvidz.com search by 173,700. It took GamingVidz nearly two years to reach 34,300 results and in only three months vBSEO has increased search engine results by more than 5x what we started with. As the graphs also show there has a substantial increase in organic search engine traffic as well! I know I’ve said it before, but I couldn’t be more pleased with my vBSEO license purchases and I recommend purchasing one for your vBulletin forums as well.

The results from this week’s update are not as amazing when compared to last week’s 17,100 jump in results from Google; however, there was some progress from Yahoo and MSN. vBSEO is still working hard to index my site in the search engines and improve organic search engine traffic. Here are the numbers for week 6:

site:haloboards.com (Google) down 100 to 28,300

site:haloboards.com (Yahoo) up 543 to 13,083

site:haloboards.com (MSN) up 14 to 149

The numbers from this week show HaloBoards pulling ahead in MSN search results when compared to GamingVidz, although it’s still at a miserable total of only 149 results for a site:haloboards.com. Yahoo also showed some progress, but Google seems to be taking a rest after last week’s huge gains. I’m very impressed with how well vBSEO has improved indexing my vBulletin forum content, improving organic search engine traffic and highly recommend vBSEO to those of you running vBulletin forums.

Here are the numbers for Week 11 on my ongoing case study of vBSEO’s affects on forum search engine indexing and sending traffic from search engines. The numbers from this week’s search engine results show some progress, but not as much as we’ve seen in some of the recent updates. Here are the numbers:

site:gamingvidz.com (Google) up 8,000 to 217,000

site:gamingvidz.com (Yahoo) up 127 to 25,368

site:gamingvidz.com (MSN) up 7 to 129

All three search engines showed positive results; however, Google had the highest gain with an extra 8,000 search results over last week’s numbers for a site:gamingvidz.com. MSN has continued to show little to no results since the start of this case study. I gave up on MSN long ago, but I’d like to see at least some double digit gains someday.

Well, I knew it would happen. HaloBoards has just received it’s tremendous surge of new search engine results as can be seen now from a site:haloboards.com search on Google. This surge has occured at around the same time GamingVidz.com saw it’s first boost in search engine results from Google. vBSEO has been doing a great job of indexing my two case study forums and has helped to increase organic search engine traffic. Here are the numbers for week 5:

site:haloboards.com (Google) up 17,100 to 28,400!

site:haloboards.com (Yahoo) down 3 to 12,540

site:haloboards.com (MSN) up 9 to 135

Five weeks ago HaloBoards started with only 6,176 results and in one week vBSEO increased search engine results for a site:haloboards.com search by 17,100. This one week increase accounts for nearly three times more search engine results than the site ever accumated naturally for the 8 months the site was open before enlisting the help of vBSEO. I couldn’t be more pleased to have purchased my vBSEO licenses and I recommend purchasing one for your vBulletin forums as well.

It’s time again for another update on vBSEO’s affect on search engine indexing for my biggest forum GamingVidz.com. GV, as it’s affectionately called by it’s members, has well over 230,000 posts and nearly 5,000 members. I believe vBSEO is having an impact on sending search engine traffic to the site as has been shown in previous posts and it shows no sign of stopping. Here are the numbers for this week:

site:gamingvidz.com (Google) up 39,000 to 209,000!

site:gamingvidz.com (Yahoo) down 340 to 25,241

site:gamingvidz.com (MSN) down 1 to 122

Google pulled in another five digit gain with a 39,000 increase in search engine results for a total of 209,000 when doing a site:gamingvidz.com. When I started this case study, a site:gamingvidz.com search on Google only resulted in 34,300 results. I recommend you use vBSEO on your forums to help improve search engine indexing and gain organic search engine traffic.
