September marks the sixth month that I’ve offered advertising on my blog and it was a great month. I hit the goal I set for last month! Continue reading below for the earnings break down by category.
Check out the earnings break down here:
Private Ad Sales: $85
Sponsored Reviews: $50
Affiliate Sales: $70
(All from SEOBook)
Grand Total: $205 (New Record
)
WordPress Themes Sale: $39.95 (Not included in monthly total until I cover the cost I paid for them)
Earnings Analysis:
My 468 x 60 banner ad has been renewed twice for $35 a month and the advertiser is using a banner promoting BANS. Because they’ve renewed this ad, I have to assume that they generated at least one or more sales through that banner. This helps to prove that advertising on my blog will convert for you! Just look at the $70 in SEOBook commissions as well.
With that said, my 300 x 250 inline ad is still available for $75. When this slot is filled it is not rotated, in fact only one banner will be featured there and it is the only advertisement in the RSS feed as well. For several months it was sold out from the time I first began offering advertising so I am surprised it did not sell this month. I definitely expect it to sell this month though. Click here to buy it.
I said this last month, but again I’m still surprised that no one has taken advantage of the 125 x 125 sidebar ads that are only $15 a month! I honestly don’t think that my sidebar ads are overpriced especially because in this month and the previous month a few of these have converted for affiliate sales. Click here to purchase a sidebar banner ad.
I sold one more text link last month to bring the total up to five. There are only a few spots left, so click here to purchase a site wide text link ad. This is a good price for a PR3 blog.
Lastly, if you like the WordPress theme you see here, than be sure to check out my WordPress themes page where you can see and demo three other color variations of this unique custom theme. If you like all three you can purchase the group for $99.95 or buy them for $39.95 individually.

Assessing September’s Goals:
Setting specific and measurable goals is incredibly important if you wish to see improvements in your blog or website revenue, subscriber count, number of visitors, and a wealth of other factors.
Post Count:
I only wrote 14 posts in September which was 6 short of my previous goal for the month (at the end of the post). I believe that if I increased my post count to 20 per month and kept the quality up I could see much more growth. So to help light a fire under my butt I’ve decided to give away one of my unique Wordpress themes for free to the best comment of the month in case I don’t hit 20 posts this month. If I don’t reach this goal things I will look for in the winning comment include great feedback on a post that raises new ideas, poses great questions, interacts with other readers etc.
RSS Subscribers:
I also fell short of my 170 RSS subscribers goal. While I did hit a high of 158 subscribers the other day I’ve since dropped back down a little. I ended the month at 148 subscribers. So my current goal is still 170 RSS subscribers which is about a 15% increase over the month ending total. If you are currently visiting my blog on even a semi-regular basis I would encourage you to please subscribe to my RSS feed.
Income Expectations:
Although I didn’t hit my previous two goals, the month wasn’t a complete waste as I did reach my $200 income goal for the month and set a new record. I want to hit $250 for next month, so if you’re interested in advertising please see my advertise page for rates and info.
Lastly, don’t think I forgot about the in depth Stumble Upon post I promised. That is coming soon as well. So be sure to subscribe to my RSS feed so that you don’t miss it. In the meantime please add me to your Stumble Upon friend’s list.

Nice income. How I wish I could also earn as big as that monthly. I am too stupid in affiliate sales. Give me some tips
Nice stats!
My thoughts on the lack of 125×125’s - a lot of bloggers still don’t have one of their own and either don’t know how to do it themselves or can’t find someone within their budget.
Perhaps if you made a post on that?

Good going Chris!
I’ve just ordered my 125*125 banner and it’s now sitting pretty at the top of your sidebar - another $15 towards the coffers mate!

Just a thought Chris, all of your banner ads vanish when the visitor changes theme, is there any way you can integrate your advertising system on all of your selectable themes?
Style Wordpress´s last blog post..PressNoir
Hey Style,
Yah I think I can fit that in there. I guess I just didn’t do it because I wanted people to see exactly what it would look like if they bought the theme.
I don’t think anyone really continues to use those themes as they aren’t custom tailored to this blog.
Thinking of buying your theme

Ok, well that’s certainly up to you but if you buy a different color scheme and modify the header than it can look a lot different. Just look at what I did with GamingFonts.com.
Nice results! Just smash your rss goal this month
