This marks the second month that I’ve offered advertising on my blog and unfortunately I did not make more money than I did last month. The primary reason why I didn’t pass my numbers was because of an inline ad sale that got pushed to this month’s numbers and a sponsored review that didn’t come through. There were a few problems with my ad management system OIO Publisher that caused the delay but they look to be resolved now. I just received the paypal payment for the ad today but because it didn’t go through last month I didn’t want to apply it to last month’s. Anyway enough of the excuses
check out the earnings break down:
Private Ad Sales: $65
Kontera: $.95 (Didn’t run the whole month)
Total: $65.95
It’s too bad that the sales I had expected to come in didn’t, but these things happen and you can’t let them get you down. I’m an inside sales account manager in my day job and have had my fair share of sales that I expected to come in that didn’t, but June is a new month. I’m sure that I’ll hit $200 this month especially because I already have a good start and another banner renewal coming in (no hopes up though
lol).
Advertiser Shout Out:
Thousand Dollar Profits - Thanks Mark! Too bad we couldn’t get the order in last month though ![]()
Fresh Press Themes - Hyder won the 468 x 60 banner two months ago and decided to renew it last month because he was receiving some good traffic from it.
I Need Alex - Thank’s for your blog button purchase Alex ![]()
Web Design - Nice snag on the sitewide link. I’m surprised more people haven’t taken advantage of this considering this blog now has a PR4 and the links are only $10/month!
I’m still making progress towards my $1,000 a month goal by the end of this year and although there was a slight downturn this month I remain confident that I will reach my goal. Ah well, life happens
Good luck on reaching your $1,000 a month goal!
Thanks, I also just got another link subscription after publishing this post so perhaps people didn’t know the links were so low.
Either way I’m confident I’ll hit $200 this month and I believe I can reach $1000 per month by the end of the year.
Wow, congratulations..
Wxcellent news, I hope to do as well or better myself!
Hi Chris
Nice report, it is infinite if it’s compared with the money I earn (lol). I think that the real goal isn’t at a certain amount, it is on earn every month more than the previous one, don’t you think? I’ll keep an eye on your evolution, I wish you luck!
See you!
Hey Binary,
Yes that is always the goal (to earn more than last month). But I like to set specific amounts to shoot for as opposed to just having a general goal to make more money than I did last month.
Hi Chris,
$1000 by the end of the year is an excellent goal and not a very hard one to meet.
Great results Chris. It looks like you could stand to benefit from increased ad sales and some good affiliate marketing. Have you ever considered making an eBook or something along those lines? They can really work wonders for your income.
Try lowering your sidebar ad rates to $15 month (I’d be interested there). I just think $20 might scare a few people off. I mean heck, mine are only $20 and I have over 225 subscribers with a PR4
Keep up the great work! I look forward to tracking your progress
Only thing i can say you is “Dont just be confident”,MAKE IT HAPPEN.. Determine yourself man,try hard! Have sleepless nights and work more, promote!!!
I am sure you know all these and you must be following them
1000$ a month is not a tough task but seeing 65$ from 1 month really makes me sad…
Congratulations on and best wishes for your online success.
Hello Jim,
Perhaps you’re right. I’ll look at dropping the price of the sidebar ads until I have a larger subscriber base.
I’ll email you if I do.
