This if the first full month that I’ve offered advertising on my blog and although I haven’t implemented all of the tactics I plan to use to maximize my earnings I did manage to make some money last month. Here is the earnings breakdown below:

Private Ad Sales: $75
Sponsored Reviews: $50
DealDotCom: $2.63

Total: $127.63

By no means is this a large sum and it’s humorous that I posted the $2.63 from DealDotCom, but it’s a start towards my $1,000 a month goal by the end of this year. As I mentioned earlier there are still several ways I plan to increase the money I earn on this blog. Here are a few:

Implement Kontera Content Link Ad Code
Sell links through OIOPublisher
Stop giving away free advertising :) lol

The free advertising that I gave away in my blog’s birthday contest took up most of the ad space on this blog, so when these spots free up I expect some of those will sell which should help to further improve my earnings. After those ads are done running I also plan to fully implement the OIOPublisher code on my site to make it easier to manage the ads so far I’m really impressed with the plugin though. I’m also interested to see how Kontera performs because the only experience I had with it before was from using it on video game related forums.

Next month my goal is to hit at least $200. I know I have a long way to travel to reach the $1,000 mark, but I still believe I can do it in 2008. For more ways to earn money on your website or to read about companies I work with check out my recommendations.

Come on, come earn 200 dollars a month on the blog! This is very cool when you blogging and even earn money.

  2. Phil from I'm no electrician

Its a great start Chris, I’m looking to generate that sort of income too. Do you think PR helps you at all?

  3. Rajaie

Congratulations! Every $2.63 makes a difference

Phil, I think the higher pagerank will certainly help when I start to sell links on the site and I’m sure it may help with the other advertisers as well.

But I think the site’s content and demographics are the important parts.

  5. Making $2500+ PM

It’s not difficult to make $200 next month Chris. I know you are capable of even doubling it next month… just give some more time to blogging as well as marketing your blog.

Chris , looking at your page rank/visitors/alexa ranking .. this is a pretty good blog , you should try Old` Adsense to menetize it a bit. I think that Total: $127.63 is just too little for your efforts. The site is defenetely not monetized as it should be. Good luck !

  7. Alan from Zero and Up

Best of luck - I’d love to break the $1000 PM mark this year as well, but we’ll just see how that goes :)

  8. Monetize Pro

Cool Chris, Soon I am going to monetize my blog to, got a kick ass theme upcoming

My recommendation would be to diversify. At between $100-200 a month you’ve reached at good revenue level for a blog oriented toward the “make money online” market. Looking around at other April Stats posts I’ve been seeing many who’re happy to have made $20!

This is a good flagship blog for you to launch other money making efforts. If you look at the top bloggers, they make money on projects that aren’t directly on their blog (eBooks, eCourses, affiliate/niche marketing sites or the like) or else they make money by doing paid promotions for affiliate programs and the like and private advertising sales. Most do a combination of both.
