I haven’t been to DealDotCom for a while, but I just happened to check out the site today when I noticed they have the OIO Publisher Plugin on sale today for only $15! For those that haven’t heard of DealDotCom it’s basically like Woot but for non physical goods. Once a day they offer a deal on a product at a significantly reduced price.

Today’s deal happens to be the OIO Publisher plugin. If you haven’t heard of this plugin before, it basically allows you to sell ads on your blog and it takes care of all the management and back end work for you. So rather than having to keep track of how long an ad is set to run for on your blog this is all managed by the OIO Plublisher plugin.

I just recently started to offer advertisements on my blog after the new theme went live and being the lazy guy that I am I want something that would take the work out of managing the advertisements. So anyway, I never got around to purchasing this plugin because I didn’t know when I’d have the time to implement it; however, I just bought it for $15 over at DealDotCom. Now I don’t have first hand experience using this plugin yet but from what I’ve read this is well worth the regular $37 price and it’s a steal at $15. I’ll write about my use with it later but if you have $15 in your paypal account and are looking for a way to manage your blog advertisements I’d go buy it.

Head on over to DealDotCom to snag it. The plugin will only be available at that price for the remainder of the day.

*lol sorry for two “sponsored” type posts in a row, but this deal really is honestly really good.*

My good friend Hyder over at Weborithm sent me an email the other day about his nifty new plugin WP Auctions. Now for those of you with short memory spans - Hyder is the designer behind the new theme here at ChrisGuthrie.net, so when I received his email I was eager to see what this plugin had to offer. In a nutshell, this plugin allows you to cut out the middle man and list items up for auction on your blog without paying any fees!

Some of the features of the WP Auctions plugin include:

List as many items up for auction as you’d like
Generate free traffic to your blog from visitors viewing the live auctions
Sell products with or without a buy it now option
Show your eBay feedback to help establish your reputation
Upload up to 4 different images per auction item
Offer an RSS feed for your auction items
5 free color styles: Earth, Wind, Water, Heart and Fire! (Hilariously named after the powers on the TV show Captain Planet)
Several other backend customizing options

You can see the plugin I’m running in action on the bottom of my sidebar with the Wind style. In fact, I’m currently offering an auction for a 125 x 125 Blog Ad on my sidebar. The proceeds of the sale all go towards an organization called Team In Training who helps to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

I should also mention that you can also purchase a customized style for your plugin for the price of $48.99. Hyder has a little bit of a backlog although I’ll be getting the customized style soon and you’ll be able to see that as well.

In any case, I really love the feature set offered in this plugin as I only noticed a couple minor things that I’d do differently; however, I spoke with Hyder and he let me know there are plenty of updates in the works. In fact, another great aspect of this plugin is that for only $24.99 you receive free upgrades for life too!

Buy Now

I’m also pleased to say that this plugin made the distinction of being offered on the Chris Recommends list which contains quality products, services and or companies that I have personal experience using and recommend to my readers. I highly recommend you purchase this plugin if you’re looking for a way to offer highly targetted products or services for sale on your blog geared towards your readers.

Like every other day, I opened up my RSS reader on the train heading into work this morning to check out what others had to say around the blogosphere. Now I knew going into the day that there may be some April Fools day posts but after running through my feeds I soon turned my surprise towards how many people DID NOT actually write April Fools posts. I mean come on people, I know it’s April Fools but why does everyone need to write an April Fools post? lol, obviously everyone’s just having a little fun but here were some pretty good posts I read today:

Daily Blog Tips aquired for 168k via Al’s post over at Self Made Minds

This was the best one I saw in my opinion as I found it via some collaborative effort by reading it on Self Made Minds first. It also happened to be one of the first feeds I read in the morning so my mind was still a little groggy and not quite ready for the crazyness that was yet to come…

John Chow Cola Nice try John, but you had a perfect opportunity to write a post about breaking the six figure mark for the month of March. That could have gotten a few people.
Affiliate program just for viewing a blog? Too bad that affiliate program isn’t real! It’d be pretty easy to cash in.
Pay Per Tweet Not sure how well this one would have panned out but Darren did say he received 16 inquiries about it!

What was the best April Fools post that fooled you? Did you write an April Fools post?
